Ruby (Roberts) Kristiansen

August 16, 1928 – January 1, 2022

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Ruby Kathleen Kristiansen of Dugald, MB on January 1, 2022 at the age of 93 years.

Ruby was born and raised in Brandon, MB on August 16, 1928.  She was the oldest of 6 children.

She is predeceased by her husband Ralph Omar Kristiansen in 1991, and son Robert John Kristiansen in 2005, brothers John and Fred Roberts and sister Pearl Stanley

She is survived by her son Garth whom she resided with.  Her brothers Bert (Donna) Roberts, Ken (Bev) Roberts and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom worked at the Brandon General Hospital in her early years.  She also worked at Wilson Stationery in Brandon.  She had many lasting lifelong friendships from her hometown of Brandon.

Ruby married Ralph Omar Kristiansen in 1961.  Mom worked hard on the farm looking after the family and cooking for the hired men that worked on the farm and doing yard work, growing a large garden and cutting the grass.

Mom was always well organized and enjoyed putting on large meals at the family table.  She loved to cook and bake, especially for Christmas.  Christmas was always spent in Brandon and she looked forward to going there.

Special thanks to the staff from Oakbank Home Care which made it so that Mom could remain at home.

At this time no date has been determined yet for the funeral service.  Due to Covid restrictions it is invitational only.  Funeral will also be virtual on the Korban Funeral Chapel website.
