It is with heavy and saddened hearts that the family of Donald Scott report his passing on November 16,2021 at 12:30 pm at the Health Science Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba
Donald Gordon Scott was born in Toronto, Ontario the youngest child to Arthur and Daisy Scott. He and his family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba when he was just a baby. His childhood was spent in East Kildonan, where later he met his wife, Terry Scott (nee Black). They were married in July 22,1967 and enjoyed 54 years as lifelong partners. In 1972, they bought their first and last home in Transcona where they raised their daughters Vicky and Dawn.
He was predeceased by His father Arthur Scott, mother Daisy Scott (nee Keith), brother Reggie, sister Arlene. As well as his grandson Christian Wiens and niece Katherine Dumka.
Donald is survived by his wife Terry Scott, daughters Vicky Wiens (Kevin), Dawn Neufeld (Chris) and his grandchildren, Jonah, Paige, Zachary, and Hannah.
Also left to mourn his passing are his nephew Mike Dumka (Tracy). sister in laws Wendy Oddleifson (Norm), Susan Ritchie (John), Jackie, nephews and nieces Chris, Leah, Jay, Keith, and Jessica.
Don had many lifelong friendships and memories that were worthy of many short stories. He was very active in sports and played football for EK Lions football team as well as Transcona National’s. Nothing could tear Don from a Blue Bomber Game.
Donald worked for Moore’s Business forms for almost 40 years. until retirement. His love of people and their many different personalities were always evident when he shared his stories from work.
He loved his family; each member meant the world to him, and they knew it. He had a deep love of the outdoors and hunted with his core group of buddies near Ninette, MB.
In later years he enjoyed spending time in his yard, loved gardening, feeding the birds in his backyard, or just going for a car ride somewhere outside the city.
He was a great friend to many. Always had a good story to tell. Always wanted to put a smile on the faces around him. He always saved a good joke for the next time you saw him.
An interment is planned for summer 2022 in Ninette, Manitoba.
