Alfonso Ruiz (Pedro Leña).
It is with great sadness that the family of Alfonso Ruiz announce his passing on Monday June 01, 2020 in Winnipeg at the age of 90 years old. After a long battle with cancer Alfonso died peacefully at home with his son Jorge and Mirna (daughter in law) by his side.
Alfonso was born in El Salvador and became a Canadian Citizen a few years ago. He was an auto/diesel mechanic. He spent part of his life working in the agriculture, cotton, corn and sugar cane sector back in El Salvador. He enjoyed watching the history channel and soccer especially his favorite team Barcelona and its star Messi.
He admired Canada’s vastness and beauty, and proud of the Canadian army’s contribution to bringing peace during the second world war. He liked English as a language even though he was not able to speak it properly.
Alfonso was predeceased by his common in law spouse Luz and parents. He leaves to mourn his children Carmen, Lilian, Alfonso Jr, Morena, Jorge and Imelda. He will be remembered by his grandchildren and great grandchildren and son/daughters in law.
